Former KATV-TV GM Dale Nicholson died last Saturday. During his career, he presided over the influential Arkansas television station for 25 years.

Arkansas Business ran an obituary for Nicholson this week, touching on such career highlights as his controversial decision to air the groundbreaking miniseries “Roots” in 1977, while serving as KATV VP. He made a similar decision years later as GM, airing “NYPD Blue” when many other stations wouldn’t.
