FX debuted a 360-degree video promo that puts viewers inside Legion’s mysterious orb, and ends with a two-and-a-half-minute peek at the opening scene of the season-two premiere, slated for April 3 at 10 p.m.
The hallucinogenic spot includes footage from previous mind-bending promos in a sensory overload that immerses users in the mindset and visual world of the series. The experience also features Easter eggs related to key characters, key art and other Legion visuals.
Based on the X-Men comics, Legion follows David Haller (Dan Stevens) as man who believed himself to be schizophrenic and remained locked up in a psychiatric hospital, only to discover he may be the most powerful mutant the world has ever seen. He uses his telekinetic and telepathic abilities to fight a psychic villain known as Amahl “Shadow King” Farouk, who it turns out has haunted him his entire life.
Noah Hawley serves as executive producer, along with John Cameron, Lauren Shuler Donner, Simon Kinberg, Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory. Legion is produced by FX Productions and Marvel Television, with FXP handling the physical production.
