Elastic and its creative director, Patrick Clair, once again proved that it is dominating the relatively recently born art form known as the main title. With three out of five nominations in the category, Elastic is likely to repeat this year, after winning in 2016 for Amazon’s Man in the High Castle and in 2014 for HBO’s True Detective in 2014.

Imaginary Forces, another strong player in this arena, scored a nomination for its opening sequence for Netflix’s Stranger Things. Not that anyone’s counting, but that brings Clair to eight total nominations and Imaginary Forces Creative Director Michelle Dougherty to seven. Imaginary Forces won in 2015 for WGN America’s Manhattan.

Ryan Murphy and Prologue also were nominated for the main titles for FX’s Feud: Bette and Joan, executive produced by Murphy and starring Jessica Lange and Susan Sarandon.

Nominations also were handed out for main title theme music. Those went to: Feud: Bette and Joan, theme by Mac Quayle; National Geographic’s Genius, theme by Hans Zimmer and Lorne Balfe; Stranger Things, theme by Michael Stein and Kyle Dixon; CBS All Access’ The Good Fight, theme by John David Buckley; PBS’ Victoria, theme by Martin Phipps; and Westworld, theme by Ramin Djawadi.
