In the game, players wear virtual-reality headsets to become Panda, Grizz and Ice Bear from the show. They are then tasked with cooking up fast food in a virtually moving food truck and serving it to customers before the clock runs out.
The game was developed by Philadelphia-based game studio PHL Collective, and has launched exclusively at the Family Fun Center in Tukwila, Wash., this week for fans of all ages to play over the next three months. The experience was produced by Cartoon Network Studios and spearheaded by their emerging technology group. AiSolve developed WePlayVR, a free-roaming virtual reality arena that will allow the game to move from market to market and let kids try it.
Although Food Truck Rush is Cartoon Network’s first location-based VR experience, in October 2015, Cartoon Network was the first kids-focused network to enter the VR space with Adventure Time: Magic Man’s Head Games.
