ABC teamed up with Los Angeles-based creative agency AV Squad to start the campaign for six-part true-crime docuseries The Last Defense, executive produced by How to Get Away With Murder’s Viola Davis and her husband Julius Tennon, head of their production company, JuVee Productions.
The series tells the story of two death-row inmates — Darlie Router, accused of stabbing her two children to death, and Julius Jones, an African-American man sentenced to death for the carjacking and murder of a white father of two.
Besides Davis and Tennon, the series is executive produced by Andrew Wang for JuVee, as well as Christine Connor and Lee Beckett for Xcon Productions, and Vanessa Potkin, Aida Leisenring and Morgan Hertzan for ABCNews’ Lincoln Square Productions.
The Last Defense premieres Tuesday, June 12, on ABC at 10/9 c.
